Ha, nice one Shaw.

Never liked Woodward since the 2005 Lions tour.

If Clive Woodward ever asked me out to dinner, I would have to say No. I don't have anything against him as a person, but I've seen weaknesses in his character that I don't like.
This is what happens when you get rugby players to write articles. It's a bit rich to accuse someone of equivocation and shirking responsibility and then to write a gem of doublethink like that.

Also, guy sounds a little vindictive.

"I don't have anything against him, but I don't like him."

I can't blame Woodward for not playing Shaw ahead of Johnson in that tour, but Woodward is a complete twat for taking like 3 Welsh players after we'd won the grand slam.

Hence, Shaw wins.

Looks like Simon Shaw accidentally made his livejournal public.

So tomorrow should be good. I'm picking Australia to win, mainly because of Giteau. The All Blacks have no kicking game without Dan Carter, and Giteau is awesome and has formitable support in Barnes etc. I foresee most of the game being played in New Zealand's half with ill-thought out attempts to run the ball from the 22 being our main strategy.

Hopefully the return of some big names steadies the ship a little bit so that we actually play some intelligent rugby and take it to them.

You can't blame the ref for Australia only being able to play 60 minutes at a time.

That one that Barnes/Smith fumbled would have been great if the ball had got to Mortlock. Lol Australia.

I think the fine is for the winger being so unbelievably stupid as to wink in front of several thousand people and a dozen TV cameras while cheating.

Picks for tomorrow?

Boks seem on form but de Villiers is a loose cannon. All Blacks still sub-par but have the better management (opinion seems to be that the substitutions were critical to last week's victory) and are rebuilding after weathering a storm.

Boks are definitely going into the match with the best form of the Tri-Nations teams and the highest calibre of opposition in their lead up matches.

Before the first Bledisloe match I'd have thought the Boks would pump them for sure. Now, I still think the Boks will win, but I'm a bit less certain. I think I'm 65% Boks, 35% All Blacks, with a 100% probability of de Villiers making a right idiot of himself after the game, or if he's been practising, before it.

I had hope from about the 50th minute to the 70th minute but then reality reasserted itself and it pretty much unfolded as I expected. If the ABs can actually start playing some rugby in the first half, next week will be interesting.

Well, it's been established since the first French test that this incarnation of the ABs is weaker than previous years. I dunno whether it's something that can be solved by rotation, since it's pretty much conceded that we are in fact fielding the best team available at the moment. Rotation has a role in developing future talent, though. I dunno, the main problems to my admittedly untrained eye seemed to be the complete failure of the lineout until the second half, and some uncharacteristically bad scrumming which pretty much ensured we were playing in our own half on the back foot the whole time.

Some terrible panic-play that gave up the clinching try to the Boks.

The All Blacks have great players without Dan Carter but it seems like the mixture just doesn't quite set without him.

Well, I wouldn't go as far to say we're completely rudderless without DC but obviously he is a tremendous asset. I'm not quite sure what exactly is going on but there does seem to be a mass dip in some established positions (notably on the wings) in form along with recurring injuries.

Not to take away from the Boks, who obviously played very well for the first 40 minutes and the last 15.

On the plus side, Carter just played for his local club and you can be sure that the moment that management thinks he is fit he'll be drafted into the squad pretty quickly.

PS Dave, New Zealand -- even Dan -- doesn't do drop goals. I don't know if even he could have saved us at that point. The reluctance to play 'boring rugby' means there's a bigger emphasis on try scoring, even if it comes at the expense of point scoring.
