Oh I don't think it was social media that brought this one down... not at all....

Lack of mods and lack of upkeep is what did it.

I dunno places like Something Awful are still doing alright. I joined there and have since gotten into several expensive hobbies that I really shouldn't have gotten into.

I think that that was one of the larger reasons, but we also had a lot of people leave because the site was down so much from getting hacked and people were afraid of getting hacked themselves, then there was a schism that made most of the regs of R&M leave and create our own forum, and since the site had kind of a small focus I don't think many people that would have joined bothered because either there wasn't much going on anymore or because they could get that information from less dedicated/more dedicated forums.

Doubt you guys will read this but I figured I'd get it in before the ship totally sinks

It's been an absolute pleasure being on this forum with everybody. There's been good and bad but it's been enjoyable all the while. I've taught things and I've learned things. I've made some friends and made some enemies. But most of all, I had fun and I felt a part of this.

I wish you all good luck in your endeavors and on life and if you guys happen to be on the PDF, then that's where I remain. Drop me a line.

Definitely for sure.

I've been actually drumming more in the past month than I have in years, actually. I don't live with my drumset currently, but I've been padding out about 30+ minutes a day, and been noticing an increase in my skills. I can finally do flam drags at a reasonable tempo.

I've joined a proto-metal band, we're right now a power trio but we want to add some keyboards and a frontwoman to complete the lineup, and its been kicking ass. Also kicking my ass too, my callouses have weakened severely over the past couple of years, so padding out each day is helping me bring things back up to power.

So long guys, thanks for all the fish.

Despite not drumming at all for the best part of 2 years now, I've still got this page bookmarked.

Thanks to everyone, It was great to have inspiration and help from you all back in the day.

Anyone live in Philly or DC? I'm heading on a tour filling in for a great band "River City Extension" next week. As well as playing Philly with my own personal band next sunday. Should be cool. All headlining shows. Let me know if anyone wants some more details!

Well, turns out I had to come back 1 more time...

Yeah, pretty much doing live sound and other event work. Been working around Europe as a Tech for the past year, before that a lot of stuff in the UK.

It's hella good fun, and my drums still get used occasionally as a house kit at gigs.

Hmmm not that this is the best place to ask because of the deadness, but has anybody bought small stage lights before? I want to get a pair, and have them on the left and right side of my drums, on the ground, pointing up at me. So over the top but oh so awesome at the same time.

What kind of effect do you want Froggys?

Your best bet would probably be a couple of LED Par Cans. These will do pretty much any colour you want, and can either be set on sound to light (most models) or linked together with a controller for more custom control. They also use a low amount of power and don't kick out heat or need a dimmer to work. These would be available from any mobile DJ type shop.

What's your budget?

I'm not restricted by a budget per se, but this is something I want to test out and play with first so don't want to go all out. I was thinking starting with maybe couple hundred ($300 max) and seeing what I can do with that, and if I want to add more I can.

everyone has they're own style, I like though the way he works off the double bass rhythm/pattern and incorporates melodic roles with his toms, even in his earlier solos he was a double bass guy (15:50)

Sinking ship? Hope not.

Nice to see TGP still rocking out. I'll have to pop down to NS and catch a show sometime.

Where can I troll a board now? I want my post count carried over wherever that is!

Froggys... weird question.

Do you, or did you, play on the nerd.nu Minecraft servers?

Or is there another Seafroggys out there....

Seafroggys is my Minecraft username, but I never played on that server before. You sure it wasn't a different spelling?

Haven't adhered it on yet, and need to smooth out the edges. But this will be my new front logo. Kinda psyched to put it on for my gig on Friday.

(its my initials, JGR)
