How about we start using reputation as a form of currency!

10,000 rep buys 1,000 posts
20,000 rep buys a large avatar
30,000 rep buys -1 year on joindate
40,000 rep buys a HUGE avatar
50,000 rep buys access to a specified forum

And so on and so forth.

Because I was thinking... Besides a crappy PM system, the way rep is handed out these days kinds of makes it useless.

Because then on top of rep being meaningless, everything else will become so.

The only one that would work is the larger avatar, who cares about any of the others?

Considering that only the pit people care about rep (and have the most rep), only the pit people would utilise this stuff.

PM system pulleaze.

I'm pretty sure users from other sub-forums care about reputation points too. In many cases, they care more about it!

Eh, just scanning through the members list, I still think it's mainly pit people (including myself... shame shame).

Oh yes, GD regulars have the highest reputation. But your main point was that only GD users care about the reputation points, but that is no where near the truth.

Mmmkay dude, I see. Still, relating back to what I said, GD users have more, and they'd be the only ones to utilise Nath's suggestion.

Back on topic: is it just me, or are a lot of people in favour of abandoning rep for a PM system?

How is talking about rep in a rep thread, off topic?

Who cares about PM systems. Just talk to people on irc, msn, aim and slsk if you want to.

Many things could be implicated on these forums, that would be very useful!

Avatars should be as big as they can be before they break borders whilst keeping the 20kb limit; idk 160x160 or something.

Not rocket science.
