So I'm thinking of investing in some weightlifting gloves because I've started to get really annoying calluses on my hands (bigger and more often then I normally do).

I couple of my buddies swear against them, saying that the majority of them don't actually prevent calluses, and that they ruin your grip strength and mess up your technique.

I was wondering what everyone else thinks. Until fairly recently I was doing pretty fine with my chalk.

they definitely prevent calluses but sure if they have a grip on them it can weaken your grip strength a bit, but if you are concerned with your calluses just use them no big deal

i fail to see how it would affect your technique whatsoever

I think it was something about their thickness causing wrist-pain when benching/pressing or something.

Yeah, I'm probably going to get some. This warmer weather is seriously playing havoc with my hands when I'm in the gym.

gloves are not need imo.
Calluses are what makes your hands though
