had a lush healthy dinner and having a cup of tea now getting my bike together for tomorrow. going swimming in the lake in my favourite yorkshire town tomorrow morning at 7.30. lush little ride along to the lake to have a swim, then back to the car.

then i'm going to the track to do a little running session. going to do a maf test, which is 20 min warm up, then keeping 145-155 heartrate and measuring time taken to do each km for 4-5km. that will be my baseline, then i will keep the maf training and see that pace get faster and faster. then i will do another maf test then i will objectively see fitness improvement. can't wait to put my stats knowledge into my own life and training!!

I am crushing at the gym. Flashing some very difficult problems, and finding my knack among some of the mid-high tier difficulty problems. However, I have to be very careful not to get too over-zealous and wind up with a ligament injury; taping my fingers up is a must now if I want to go any further.

well, it would be hard to describe...I guess I'm in the v7-v9 range for bouldering. It sums up to using numerous different techniques in order to finish a route. Usually some that use extreme core-work, and foot placement to cut as much weight as possible and holds that require pinching and crimping in order to support your body weight.

that's what took me out last time; I damaged a ligament in my finger and had to down-climb, even then, with lots of pain. I'm a bit stronger than I was then, and more light weight so I think I can start moving up a level if I'm careful and dedicated. Climbing is probably my only form of exercise, except for morning stretches and occasional work on the pull-up bar

she's still getting into it a bit but it'll get there, it's a weird time of year we've been busy doing other things, even i haven't been at it very hard

i've learned it's sort of silly to sit in a gym on a beautiful day and just look outside, plenty of active things to do outdoors this time of year

that's a rewarding lesson to learn. I went hiking this weekend, and want to start doing that more. Jogging out there on the trails would be very cool, and taxing. More climbing for me though, I want to see some more local outdoor bouldering areas, and will likely check some out later this month.

I've finally flashed one black and sent another in the same day (black level routes are the most difficult rated climbs in my gym and are surpassed only by orange "project" routes, which are unrated). That was a long time coming, and for all the time off I took I'm surprised to be strong enough to do that. However, I've worked up some ligament swelling in the process, and it burns my pride that I have to now take a step back after doing so well.

but you know you've got there, so it's perfectly within reach to get there again when your injury clears!

yeah i agree chuck, being in the gym on a lush day is silly and wasteful. was raining this afternoon but due to be sunny tomorrow so i went to the gym today and will try and make the most of tomorrow by going to the moors and stuff. going home on friday night though too so will have to pack at some point. got a week and a half off work from saturday-the following wednesday so hopefully the weather will be good so can go walking and stuff. going to copenhagen for a bit of it too so will check out their harbour swimming pools!

5x5 @ 1.03*BW squat though today. getting there!

You're all acting like a bunch of monkeys...

This group sports, trying to impress each other, looking for a pat on the back.

This is literally the same sort of behaviors exhibited in ape societies.

Have you no shame? Are you not so evolved as to even use the hi-tech of the internet to relive the primitive instincts still deep in your blood from the days when men lived in caves and ate meat raw off the bones?

God, our race is lost.
