eat less food, aim for 2lbs a week (optimal for minimizing lean mass loss), keep doing the same lifting program, drop volume of the workouts if i feel im starting to not have the energy for it, goal is to maintain strength if not continue to progress slowly

started the eca stack because it's shown to aid in burning fat / keeping lean mass on a cut plus curbs appetite but im not sure how long ill stay on it its sort of affecting my sleep at the moment

ace. but not ace with the supplements affecting sleep?

i will be getting back on the swimming to add cardio work out plus need to train for my 6km island hopping adventure.
finding as 5x5 schedule is getting heavier, my energy levels by the end, when i'm trying to improve snatch, are low so bailing snatch... will need to optimise in some way.

as one gets stronger generally a switch to 3x5 is better, with ramp up sets

takes too much energy to do the lift, even once strong enough to do so

there's no fucking way i could do 5x5 squats with the weight im lifting right now

well i could but id be done and hobbling home without doing any other lifts

yeah perhaps my app is geared more towards lads who are squatting 100kg+ where only then does it recommend to moving to 3x3.

that sounds about right but theres no universals with these things especially across sexes

i find this is a pretty good guideline (make the switch once you hit about intermediate weight):

http://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards.html

great site in general for checking form and that

yeah i look at that site quite often. thanks.
i was pleased with 5x5 50kg front squat yesterday.
http://strengthstandards.com/CustomAction/Index?n2page=20
this too. looks like i'm intermediate once i get to 55kg! so that's pretty close. about a week.
deadlift i'm there already but only do 1x5 in deadlift anyway.

noiceee =)

im intermediate across the board

funny how progress screeches to a halt around that time

looking forward to the next bulking season ive sort of reached a new level of focus and ready to smash all plateaus, sort of was complacent for awhile but not anymore

apparently i was an Advanced Presser at the age of seventeen. would sound good on me cv

never been above intermediate at anything else. close to being advanced on bench when fourteen and again at seventeen when i started training it again

It was after less than a year of weight training so that makes it even more believable

I did competitive swimming as a kid, when i was twelve we had like 15 h of training per week so that probably set a good foundation. Tried bench first time soon after turning 14. Did ~70kg, height/weight was maybe 183/70. After five months i did 90. Before turning 15 i benched 105 or 110, can't remember. I thought i was something so i started oly lifting. Turned out to be shit at it due to poor mobility, height, weak posterior chain and inability to lock my arms (if arms bend in top position lift is disqualified). Eventually lost motivation and stopped training

no actually that makes it just about impossible

i mean maybe you could bench about 100 kgs but you must have gained weight in the process and therefore it wasnt an advanced lift

and then yeah theres the potential issues with form

i see lots of kids bench 100 kgs at the gym, with about a 6cm ROM and a spot

No arch, full rom, there probably was a bit of a bounce, not the sort of hold still for a sec on chest and then press thing that is required in powerlifting meets. Did it in a squat cage so no spotter either

Laura, why are you trying to be so big? Women are supposed to be dainty like roses and drop out like a feather at the sight of even a drop of blood. You should be like that.
