No kidding man, swimming is good but it shouldn't be treated like a 'cardio'. It helps to loosen up the muscle tightness after lifting.

It's funny how every meathead with access to the Internet thinks they are a nutritionist. You can tell Chuck is just parroting bro science he heard somewhere at a gym.

i'd say far more misinformation has been spread than truth by the internet (IE casual internet browsing).

the problem is people learn "something of value" on the internet, while having their minds clouded with three other dumb things.

you tend to burn more than your usual cardio, because the body is trying to keep the heat up, so it keeps on burning more cals, and this causes people to get hungry, and a normal meal ain't going make them feel satisfied...they will overeat and sometimes recover more then they had to loose in that day. So i cross it off on my list of regular activities. May be it's a tropical thing.

"its good to tone body" quite widespread information. Plus living in a place that is surrounded by water and where everybody is a die hard swimmer, helps to observe it.

I don't swim. I get ear infections. But I'm like a fish in water. I hate that I can't get in it. I could buy ear plugs, but I also don't like public pools because they're nasty and I'm stubborn.

I don't like being in the ocean. I've seen sharks, and I also had a crab grab me painfully in the scrotum with its pincers. And jellyfish freak me the fuck out. But I never encountered those. In comparison, sharks and crabs are better.

Don't like lakes either. Sometimes, lakes can become infected with e. coli, or other bacteria. Also have gar, which are long slender fish with teeth and are fucking ugly and demonic looking. Also, it's very rare but can have brain eating amoeba.

no sharks, no jelly babies, no corals and sharp bedrocks.
OK I get it, you like to stay inside your bubble. But you'll suffocate on your own poisonous CO2.

I didn't say that. You put those words in my mouth. There are a lot of places I'd like to see, just not the beach. I like the Appalachian mountains, Chicago, Minnesota, Alaska, New York, New England, and I'd like to visit Europe, including England, Finland, Serbia and Russia.

the difference in calories burned over time based on any temperature you would ever swim in is negligable

and the term "tone" is so fucking broad and useless that i still dont understand what you mean

Then again, this process is taught to be the reason why the swimmiers restrict their ability to suppress appetite after workout. Whatever it is, it does make me hungry and sleepy.

if you're worried about overeating after swimming why don't you just eat slower?

Good idea, problem is its too hard to resist, but its ok because I go like once a week. If it was more regular than I would've tried that.
