Musicportal to help local scene

Some of you already know that I am designing this project to get music scenes under the same roof (or site). Local fans, local bands and local venues.

I've researched the current progress of internet technologies and now my technological knowledge is enough to start working on more practical aspects. My aims are, A) to provide fans a place to meet new bands and get visibility for demand of their favorite bands, B) to provide promotion and contact channel for bands, C) to provide local venues (or event organizers) a place to map out the fan bases of bands and free advertisement space for events. Also I've been planning to provide customer accuiring services and content production for business like press, media, web-designers etc. I've also thought that I might aim towards building a community website (like MySpace), better organized and better managemed information.

The plan is to progress from small to bigger, from simple to complex. Attracting bands to the site should be easy and fans would probably follow. Getting the venues and event organizers interested might be more difficult. I think that the first step to be taking should be making some ways of interacting between fans and bands available. Then I should add gig lists and band requests...

But meh... I want to hear some ideas and critics and thought... everything will help me to design it better. I am just not sure if people around here are interested...
