You make yourself look very, very bad. You do a terrible job in debates because you don't revise. It may make sense in your head as you type it, but to us as readers, it's complete non sense. You also made no mention about morals, so I assumed you meant laws regarding this.

you obviously haven't read the first post of this thread......and there hasn't really been much debating in this thread. All i was saying was that it used to be a little breast was considered Pron, it's just times have changed today where that has become more acceptable but to some it's still Pron. I don't get what point you're trying to make here.

Yeah. You didn't make much of a point there. A little bit of care for grammar, spelling and punctuation goes a long way. Your post was gibberish. All I got from it was "parents can't show their kids penthouse till they're 18 so why can they show them movies like Titanic."

ok, i went back and read it and didn't see any real grammar mistakes, i could have missed them but....what you're saying is you've decided to waste three posts to lecture me on my grammar, my debating skills, and to reread my posts before i post them. None of those things have anything to do with the topic. If you have a problem with how i type,
1. Who cares
2. Go to the pit and make a thread complaining about it or something.....
otherwise, (and even then) i don't care.

My point is you're not contributing to the PNWI. You always make ridiculous points, and even when I agree with you, I feel I have to make it clear that I don't agree with all that you say.

I dont have anything against you. All I'm saying is that you don't usually make posts with a clear, defined, backed up point. Just think before you post, it goes a long way.

In America at least, movie ratings have nothing to do with the law. Legally anybody and anyone can see movies not containing explicitly illegal content (child porn, etc) rated G to NC-17. Movie ratings were started as a self-check by the motion picture industry to protect the rights of filmmakers in making art while at the same time appeasing family groups and parents who want forewarning to the content of a movie. Movies have the option of not being rated by the MPAA to avoid stigma associated with certain ratings, such as Requiem for a Dream, which would have recieved an NC-17 rating, but theaters have the option to not screen these films, and usually do not.

not necesarily. Pron has just become more hardcore in the present times. It' used to be viewing a girl partially naked, with maybe just her shirt off or etc. was pron. It's just as pRon and grown more acceptable it's gotten more hardcore.

Alcohol consumption IS legal in the states with your parents. I think. I know there are a few loopholes that also allow it for religious reasons, and I don't mean the tiny sip of wine at communion.

At the age of thirteen I could watch any film ever made without it impairing my psyche or mental well being. I don't give a damn about ratings, if I'm not allowed in I'll sneak in.

It depends on the state.

In some states, it's a crime for a minor to drink alchohol. Here in TN, if you are caught with alcohol anywhere, a party, in your own backyard, wherever, they'll suspend your driving priviledges for at least a year, and possibly fine you.

It seems to me that if you're old enough to legally consent to the act of drinking alcohol, such that you can be punished for doing so, you're old enough to drink alcohol.

Oh, yeah. I don't think legislation should play a part in mainstream movies. It's the theatre's choice to allow minors entrance, and the parents choice to police their own decisions. The US government is not a babysitter for teenagers.

I thought all states allowed that, but some just applied another mininum age, like 14 or 16. I'm quite sure that EVERY state allows some leniency.

there's a minimum age where you shouldn't have any amount of alcohol ever. it's like 5 or 7 or something. giving kids booze before that would be child endangerment or negligence

after that it's all good as long as their guardian is there

I find its pretty retarded when people make a big deal about sexuality and nudity...its natural. Movies with violence arent really deemed as offensive anymore. We had to watch J.F.K. get his head blown off in 6th grade...but we had to fast forward 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' because Halle Berry was making out with a guy in 11th. I think its really backwards.

There are similar laws here, nomially; but they're not enforced. In reality, we all just hide our bottles in the unlikely event of the police showing up, and wait until they leave. I've even told them, when inquired, that I'm of age and they don't question it further.

Here it can be up to six. A 16 year old can legally have sex with a 12 year old.

Why is there allowed to be awful gore, language, and etc yet no sex? I don't understand. The countries with the lowest HIV and STD numbers are the countries that really educate people about sex and teach them about it. Not the countries that are scared of it.

/\/\ the reason i didn't mention violence/gore/language is b/c i'm unaware of any laws prohibiting minors from being exposed to that. But i thought that there were laws prohibiting minors from being shown Pron.
