Wtf is a floyd rose lol. If its that bridge looking thing with the wang bar on it, then no. UNless theres a special one for a 4 string bass.

they make tremolo's for bass. it will be much easier though if you find one that is just a tremolo bridge that doesnt require a big cavity to be routered out.

thts not a bass why are people talking about bass tremolos anyway im not sure myself. anything is possible but youd have to change the whole action route the front and back of the guitar and probably find some pickups that dont petrude as much cos i think the strings may hit them if it had a low action. basically if it was me id buy a guitar with a floyd fitted as it will lose all the character from your jazzmaster im sure if you sell it you could pick up a good one or just learn to appreciate the fender for what it is

It would be a pain in the ass to put a Floyd Rose on it. I wouldn't do it. Leave the Jazz Master as is.
And people are talking about bass because they are 1)from the bass forum and don't know this is a bass/guitar section 2)are noobs |

He's referring to a 6 string guitar, not a bass, I'm pretty sure. This is a shared forum, guitar/bass.
Frankly, it'd be very, very difficult, and costly, to install a Floyd Rose on a guitar like that. Bottom line is, it's not nearly worth it at all. On top of that, it doesn't really suit the guitar much (imo), so if you want a Floyd I'd just buy a guitar with one. If you specifically want a Jazzmaster with a Floyd though, go for a custom. |

I guess you guys are right, I just hate the vibrato unit on it, it's so...weak, and it drops out of tune all the time when I'm tremolo picking

yes i am from the bass forum. i had no idea this section was in the guitar section too, cause i dont go in the guitar section. i have no idea what subforums you guys have. secondly dont call me a noob. 6 years of playing and over a year on this forum isnt a long time but i hardly think it qualifies me as a noob. and yes i know it was a guitar in the pic. that is obvious. i was kinda confused about the pic but assumed it was a bass question cause i see posts from the101er in the bass forum all the time. i also know that a jazzmaster is a guitar but that doesnt really mean that there couldnt be some kind of jazz master bass. i know very little about fender's because i find them horribly ugly with very bland tone. |
