Finish question...

I have an SX fretless that I'm thinking of stripping down.

There's a picture. It has one of those filmed tops... Is this going to present any kind of problem when stripping it down? I don't know how it exactly works, but I'm sure one of you do. Is it printed on the wood, or is it on paper which is cleared over?

Thanks in advance.

It's like a linolium (sp?) laminate. Like a kitchen floor. Why do you want to refinish it?

I don't like the look of it. It looks so fake. That, and I'd like to get into building instruments someday. I have a background in painting, so I figured it'd be a cool thing to do.

Edit: 1,800th post.
