tele mod electronics ideas?

well i have a really old vester tele replica which has a lot of wear and tear and im going to mod it ive built a guitar before and it turned out alright so i know what im doing with the tools but the electronics on my old project were basically the same as a les paul where as this one im not so sure.

specs so far
EMG 81 in the bridge and a EMG-FT neck with seperate volumes mainly because i love the sound of both of them and emgs will have less interference how should i wire it up with the three way switch i mean will it sound alright them both on at the same time and do you reckon its worth adding a killswitch or adding any other extra little pieces this is my desig colours may change im iether thinking this or matt black with this colour pick guard http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/shop/products.php?category=274&product=3843

design i did on the kisekae simulator in some spare time

any help or any ideas or anything for it would be greatly appreciated while its still in the planning stage

I would go with a DPDT on/on/on if you want a switch. But if you have a volmue pot for both pickups, you wouldn't need a switch. I think both on would sound really full and nice. You might want to add a phase switch or a series/paralell switch.

This page has some diagrams. Go through it and see what you can use. I know most of it is for a strat, but there is some stuff for just one and two pickups...

Link to the simulator please

I'd be a cool idea to add the killswitch, may take some more time etc. but they are useful i.e. tremolo

You're thinking of a vibrato unit, for some reason people call them tremolos. Tremolo is (I believe) oscillation of pitch, so it's like turning the pickups on/off/on/off. Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine uses the effect alot, using a Killswitch

And for the simulator, can you provide a direct link? ie. http://www.google.com

As for the guitar, I'd have a blend knob to change between pups, a master volume and tone, and a toggle switch to turn on a booster circuit.

You'll need a special knob, they sell them on StewMac. It says how to wire em up on there.

The advantage would be you could have any mix/blend of pickup, like 23% neck 77% bridge or whatever. That coupled with individual volumes would be pretty cool.

Making the neck P-up a humbucker would be sweet. Maybe with a coil tap?

With a volume for each, it's like have a blend knob and a 3 way switch because you can choose which combination you want and how much of each pickup you want and it's easier.

meh, the whole with with a tele is the neck pup is that single coil. That's what gives it the tone. You can get a hum/hum anywhere.
