Deepnet Explorer

I use Firefox and a program called Deepnet Explorer. I have come to realize that all good things must end and that Firefox is one of those things. It is getting really popular and I think that eventually some nerd is going to find vulnurabilities(sp?) in Firefox. So I found Deepnet that seems VERY safe. (anti-phishing etc.) But what I want to know is if it is based on IE, is it as not safe? Here's the link.

but how do i know it wont eventually become a problem?
See my mom was thinking about switching because of spyware and stuff, so I told her I would find her something. (they hate change so i kinda have to keep it to a minimum.)

If she has a decent firewall and virus protector, and isn't completely dumb about sites, then FF won't cause a problem.

okay we have norton, but ie is still giving her viruses and such.
I am still leaning toward deepnet. It works great, alerts you when you hit a phishy site, and is basically a safe IE (same layout) so they are allready familiar with it.

Get AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition and Zone Alarm Free Firewall or Microsoft Firewall. They are much better.

ok heres the deal. My parents trust Norton because they know bankers who use it on the banks computers and they think that it is best. Its a bitch convincing them anything. So we are stuck with norton.

They are also afraid because they need it for the business computer just to be "safe".

Well not really. I mean if your a n00b in the jungle, you are gonna want what you have been told is the best. Not some antivirus and firewall you have never heard of protecting your business.

learning how to avoid spyware and viruses is better than installing a bunch of programs that do it for you

They are careful.
But they tend to open a lot of videos in emails. I wonder why they have viruses? haha
