Just buy a pickup. Nothing tricky about it. If you are afraid of messing with your guitar you can have the someone at the store do it.

^ you cant forget about the onboard preamp too, that takes a lil bit of cuttin out to get it in the guitar right
so i think yea, if you aren't too confident about your work, or just dont feel like taking the chance of screwing it up beyond repair, take it to a shop and have them put it in then if they screw it up, they'll have to reimburse YOU, instead of you messing up and getting screwed out of an acoustic |

Do they still make those pickups for acoustic guitar that are spring loaded and fit into the sound hole?
Edit: I guess they do... http://www.music123.com/LR-Baggs-Dual-Source-System-i43659.music http://www.music123.com/Fishman-Rare-Earth-Blend-Soundhole-Pickup-i87326.music http://www.music123.com/Seymour-Duncan-Woody-XL-Hum-Canceling-i136264.music Last edited by Son of Magni; 05-13-2006 at 10:13 AM. |

remember some of these will not work with a classical. nylon strung will not work with magnetic pickups. you want a piezo that will pick up vibrations.
