i always saw this game as overrated...

i do believe the appeal is the vast cast of characters, and the ease to play. Obviously, the learning curve is small at first, but very steap when you get to the TOP tiers

Yah, this whole OMG NINTENDO WINS E3 thing is pretty stupid, this game is one of the more underwhelming titles that they've shown. It doesn't make use of any of the Rev's features, so why not just put it on GC? There's no real innovation here, just new characters. Weak showing of what will probably be a great game.

I like SSB only when there are others to play with. It's a good game at parties and stuff. Also it's fun when you're drunk/stoned.

i'll definitely give ya that much star. When it was out for N64, i totally refused to play it. When it came out for gamecube, all my brothers friends were so obcessed, i had to play it just to beat their arse. I learned that beating the pants off of someone really help to curb their habbit towards playing the game. It definitely helped to get the frenzy to end

I don't think we've really seen all of SSB yet. My friend seems to think the Wiimote is used in some way, he mentioned an article he read.

Does he have a link or anything? Didn't that article in this thread say it would only be using the GC configuration?

They are awesome - see Chudat's Young Link in 2v2s for an example. Smash Bros is a fairly balanced game though, so you can win with pretty much any character.

Was the article an IGN editorial speculating on how a next gen Smash Bros might control? That's the only place I've seen the wii remote mentioned.

The series is truly fantastic and is at its best with four players. I've had literally hundreads upon hundreads of fun hours playing this game with friends.
As for the new characters I'm surprised joe from viewtiful joe won't be included. All the characters seem good choices but an Nintendog !!!!! WTF !!!!

The Winning E3 thing is just a little joke as Nintendo has had such and amazing showing this year, possibly their best year and then they cap it off with some fan service of announcing SSBB. Really this is just the icing on the E3 cake.

It won't be on GC because it's coming out in 2007 and the Wii launches later this year, so the GC will be dead by that time. Plus, I imagine there will be some graphics that utilize the slightly more powerful than a GC specs the Wii has.

rrrrrrrong.
Nintendogs has about 3 days of playability in it, and those 3 days are quite tiresome.

I am very excited to see this game, the fact my all time hero (Snake) is in it makes it even better.

I agree. It isn't going to be that much different from SSB, but it will still be great multiplayer fun.

That doesn't suprise me really. Kojima is all sorts of screwed up in the head so something like the Wii would be right up his alley.

Haha, yeah. The Wii sounds like something that would interest Kojima. Anyway, have you guys heard of the Duck Hunt remake for the Wii? Friggin' sweet!

A SSB for the Wii was kind of expected. Shouldn't be much longer now till they announce a new Mario Kart for the Wii.

I'm hoping they have a massive upgrade in Mario Kart, and it's no longer karts they drive, they drive hovership like devices which can also be moved up and down.

I dunno about that, but I want the hop back. Double dash was no fun without that. And I don't want the 2 player co-op thing. I liked the older single person to a kart better.

Well, it's not groundbreaking in the sense tht it will change they way we play videogames. It's just the fact that it's going to be insanely awesome.
