True bypass in a wah?

Here' s a fairly noobish question. What exactly is a true bypass and what does it do for your wah? If it improves the sound then I think I may have to do this.

it makes it so that when it's off, it dosen't take away from your tone.

The new crybabys are. some people like it some don't because you can't set the wah at a certain level.
