neck pockets and what not

so i have this fender jazz 24, and i was wondering if a 21 fret status neck would fit it or would i have to get another 24 fret neck. Im not a fan of the longer neck and would like a status so i was wondering if any adjustments would need to be done in order for it to fit.

A question for you: does the neck extend all the way to the 24th fret, or does the fingerboard hang over?

If the neck actually goes all the way to fret 24, and is bolted on at the end of the fingerboard, then no, you cant replace it.

If the neck is bolted on in the regular spot (b/t frets 16-20 or so), and the fingerboard is merely cantelevered out over the body, then you might be in luck.

6 bolts? That means its not a standard fender neck.

Look at it. Is there neck wood underneath the end of the fingerboard? And look at where the heel is. Is it close to the end of the neck (frets 20-24) or closer to the nut (15-20)?
