Can someone provide a guide to routing?

Ya, I'm fitting a new pickup, but need to route a new cavity. Could someone tell me how to do this and what tools etc I need

Help very much appreciated

Will

p.s. I'm actually doing this to a Telecaster guitar, but as I'm more of a bassist and the guitar forum doesnt havce one of these, is it ok to post this?

The easiest way to do it, would be to buy a 1/4" plunge router with variable speed, and a template cutting bit. They have a ball bearing around the top of the bit, whish runs around a template you make/buy and gives you a perfect route.

AG, I know you're from the UK. Do you know anywhere I can buy the templates? I'm not confident in making them

No I've only seen them on StewMac, but they deliver to the UK.

I've made my own, it isn't terribly hard.
