Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

You can look up a bass player and it tells you what equipment they use and what kind of style they play. Thought it was kinda interesting.

Take Wikipedia with a grain of salt though - it is a nice resource, but not always completely accurate.

I believe I read somewhere that it's just as accurate as any other encyclopedia.

Nifty little site.

Wikipedia varies, as any public resource will. On scientific matters they're actually more accurate than many encyclopaedia, as your common garden variety idiot can't edit what it says without it being incredibly obvious, and quickly having the edits undone. On matters of fact or philosophy it's usually pretty accurate. Just be wary of pop-culture articles, and if in doubt always double-check the facts against another site.

They are actually kind-of reliable.

One time, just joking around, I edited the June month with a birthday of a friend of mine (silly, I know). Within 1 hour, the editage was deleted.

That's why I started trusting them better =).

Well I guess you have to take it with a grain of salt but where there is smoke there's fire! Why are bass players smarter then everyone else? rhetorical question of course.

Shyeah. Apparently, the mods or admins are very good with that stuff and usually return all the information back to normal rather quickly.

What's funny is that you didn't even know it was a girl. You just assumed it, and you were dead on!

I believe the last time it was checked, Wikipedia had something like 7 more enormous errors than Encyclopaedia Brittannica.
In terms of smaller errors it had something like 150 more.(Small errors being mispelling of people's names and such)
Wikipedia also has a huge number of entries, many more than any other encyclopaedia.
