Good bye MX Tabs. You tought me how to read tabs. You were the only one I could rely on for an excellent source of drum tabs. It was rare that you didn't have what I was looking for, and when you didn't, I couldn't find it anywhere. You helped me develop my musical tastes. You made me a better musician. I will miss you, but I won't forget you.
So long MX Tabs.

Damn you MPA
not the Magazine Publishers of America, Motion Picture Association,
Marine Protected Areas, or the Macedonian Press Agency. Those damned fat jerks at the Music Publishers Association. Now I have to use Ultimate-Guitar. I liked MX. It was awesome.

It's very sad. If it wasn't for correct blink-182 bass tabs I wouldn't be here.

I don't think it matters....

Didn't that Aussie lyric site get shut down by the UK?

well, considering its america out for everyone, i'm sure hosting Mxtabs on a UK-based server will give it some kind of immunity...

Well that sucks. It was the only good place to go to get tons of (good) bass tabs. I have to say I'm a little sad.

Won't work. It would still be owned by a US citizen... thus Jeremy could get in trouble.

Ya, same for drums. I could barely find any anywhere else, and what I could find was usually horribly tabbed. Not just obviously inaccurate, but also messy and hard to read.

Couldn't Jeremy hand over his archive of tabs to Ultimate guitar? Since they are still up we can get the tabs from them. Or are all mxtabs already deleted?

Well if anyone has tabs from mxtabs, I think we need to upload them to Ultimate-guitar.

Ultimate Guitar is dirt compared to what mxtabs once was.

i think jeremy should just keep the tabs offline, and when the MPA do bollocks all about tabs, they go back online...I swear this'll just be another empty threat by mass music agencies, just because they failed to stop MP3 downloads...

Yeah, I hated the default Mxtabs skin. It was ugly and hard to read.

Technically, the people suing don't have any ground to stand on. Tabs and lyrics both clearly fall under fair use and any judge would rule in favor of any website that just delt with those aspects.

The problem, of course, is that defending yourself costs money and the 2 grand it costs the RIAA to throw a cease and dissist order doesn't hurt them at all, while the 2 grand it costs Jeremy to hire a lawyer to sue the RIAA is quite a chunk of change.

*IDEA* (farfetched but hey w/e)
First: Seperate tab forum (already done)
2nd: Request freds, one for each letter
There could be "tab-moderaters" a few for each letter
they would take requests and send out tabs for the requested songs through email.

PS whats MX's epitaph say?
