Recommendations thread (disguised as a mix tape thread)

Ok, so I'm making one or possibly two CDs full of songs I'd like the rest of my band to potentially learn for performance. The limitations are it was to be fairly easy, very generally in the Punk or Rock arena, and one guitar part, or would sound alright without the second part. We're just a three piece and we have to learn a lot of stuff fairly rapidly, hence the easy limitation. (Though if only the drums are hard by all means recommend it as I'm game for any drumming you wanna throw at me )

So, stuff I'm thinking about putting on so far:
Rise Against - Black Masks and Gasoline
A Wilhelm Scream - The Rip
Something by Strike Anywhere and maybe Strung Out
Blindside - Superman
Some Alk3
Some good 80's hxc (recommend specific songs please)

(I think it's clear where I'm taking the band musically eh? )

DRI - I Don't Need Security
Siege - Drop Dead
Black Flag/Circle Jerks - Nervous Breakdown

More to come.

Ramones = easy as pie.

Seeing as we had like 2 weeks to get a 30 min set that was what we started out on, now we're expanding. Though apparently we have a 2 hour set in like 2 weeks so yeah :-x

Strung Out might not be as easy. We'll see if I can find some older stuff that's not as technical.

Not easy. Not for one guitar. You should do "Famous Friends and Fashion Drunks" instead, it'd sound pretty decent with just one guitar. Or "Retired".

As for Strung Out or Strike Anywhere material - basically all SA is easy, but there's a lot of tricky guitar work in most of SO's songs. Do "Sunset Over 32nd Street", "Refusal" or "Chalkline" by SA, "Mind Of My Own", "Ultimate Devotion" or "Anna Lee" by SO.

But that's just my two cents

Good Intentions - Gorilla Biscuits
Straight Edge - Minor Threat
Cereal Wars - A.F.I.
I Don't Need Society - D.r.i.
Bullet - The Misfits
Wake Up Call - A.F.I.
Code Blue - TSOL
Nervous Breakdown - Black Flag
Famous Friends and Fashion Drunks - A Wilhelm Scream
Mind Of My Own - Strung Out
Chalkline - Strike Anywhere
Refusal - Strike Anywhere
Superman - Blindside
In My Eyes - Minor Threat
Chemical Warfare - Dead Kennedys
Back To Hell - Alkaline Trio
Kill The Poor - Dead Kennedys
Anna Lee - Strung Out
Private Eye - Alkaline Trio

My current playlist for the CD. Clocks in at about 45 mins so I have plenty of room for more recommendations still. I'm not doing more than 2 by any single band, but if you think I'm missing something great on here, tell me. A few of these were decided by tab avalability though, as I'm too lazy to tab anything out for our guitarist. Adam: Get on slsk so I can get some of those songs from you.

Sorry Vince. The server appears to be down at the moment. I should be on for a while though. Hopefully it's back up soon.
