actually yah, they're really good. except i don't like it when they sing in their songs, cuz most of the time it's like mushy and corny, or annoying, but luckily that's not often. check out the CD 'Next' it's good.

My guitar teacher is friends with the guitarist. O.o
After he told me about the hookup Scofield gave Eric Krasno, I'm gonna have to check them out. |

I recently tabbed out "Romantic" for bass. It's pretty sweet, including the mushy lyrics

amazing band the keyboard player is so amazing, he plays the bass part with his keyboard as well as a regular keyboard. the guitar plays plays with so much emotion its crazy. and the drummer(brother of the keyboard player) is so funky. great group. |

I love the style of music and the rawness.
Often HATE the guitarist's tone! |

Man, I don't know what it is about Soulive that makes everyone so sh;t-happy about them.
I totally like the genre, sound, style, and structure of the music they play but there's just something not there in the band. I've heard 3 or 4 of their albums, without fail, every one of them got extremely boring by the third listen. Then my friend convinced me that they're just sooooo much better live, but no,...they bored the piss out of me in concert also. There's just something lacking, I kind of want to say "musicianship", but I'm not sure if that's it or not. It's not like they're that bad, but just certainly not all that amazing. The keyboard player is probably the most entertaining member. The drummer is just boring. The guitarist is funny to watch live as he looks like a cow chewing grass while he's playing. |
