NY Indie

Ive been listening to a few indie bands from the nyc area, bands like interpol, the walkmen and the strokes? What do you think to it? Are there any other bands that you recommend i should listen to?

im not a too big fan of bravery, i dont really like his voice, and his hair style reminds me of misfits (which isnt really a bad thing but still!)

The Hong Kong
Asobi Seksu

Yeah... pretty pathetic that I know next to nothing about the music scene in the city.

In all seriousness, I'll second TV on the Radio. So awesome.

New York has always had a pretty solid scene. The current one is nothing to be ashamed of, it's one of the better "scenes". It's no San Diego, but hell, what is?

If you live in the New York City area here are some lesser known indie bands to check out if you get the chance:

The Marianne Pilsbury's
Snowball37 (actually a Newark band, but close enough)
Dunk

the first 2 are especially good, I believe they're all signed but I forget the labels. I know they have myspace pages too with songs.
