Traditional Middle Eastern

Are there any fans of traditional middle eastern music on the forums? recently i've been listening to a lot of it and i really like it. any fans of Karl Sanders should definitely check this stuff out

for those who haven't heard any stuff i would reccomend:
Ali Akbar Moradi
Ali Jihad racy
Kayhan Kalhor
Mohammad-Reza Shajarian
Amer Ammouri
Jalal Davudi
the Kamkars
Musicians of the Nile

i LOVE middle eastern music (both traditional/contemporary/fusion etc) *gasp* can't believe you didn't mention umm kulthum/oum kalthoum, haven't heard of any of the people you've mentioned, but i'll definitely be checking that out...i know more artists in the contemporary category compared to traditional so i'll be expanding my musical horizons on the traditional aspect; however i'd suggest Natacha Atlas for both traditional/contemporary fusion she's the greatest imo

My cousin is visiting from Israel and he brought a lot of this stuff, and I think it's cool. I don't know much about it, except that it's good.
