Kate Bush

Anyone else excited as hell about Aerial dropping next month? King Of The Mountain is vintage Bush. It could even have slipped onto the first half of Hounds Of Love. Brilliant stuff.

So yeah, general Kate Bush discussion ITT.

Not really

You were the first person I thought of when I first heard about it on Newsnight Review, though.

Yeah, I saw that. You got some great albums today. I suppose this means I have to buy a Kate Bush album now.

Anyway, the thread. Kate Bush's new album. Saw it on Review. I liked the cover art. That's about all I remember about it at the moment.

EDIT: Wait, no I didn't. I liked the single's cover art.

I'm not excited, but interested. I suppose that's what I think about most of Kate Bush's stuff-interesting. I haven't heard anything off of it, so I'm not sure how good it will be, by I'll probably check it out.

The singles packaging is very good, actually. There's a little slip inside the digibox containing the lyrics and another picture, so it's a sort of Chinese doll effect.

Coldplay ripped off Speed Of Sound from Running Up That Hill and you know it. (They also ripped off Computer Love by Kraftwerk on that album. I mean, seriously.)

Haven't heard the new song yet, but I'll definitely check out the album.

I really like Hounds of Love, but I got another one of her albums a few days ago... uh, The Dreaming? Something like that. Anyway I didn't like it.

The Dreaming gets whored out badly by tr00 kvlt Bush fans, but to be honest it's just too wierd for the most part. It's her worst record for me.

What album is her second best then? Assuming that Hounds of Love is her best.

Toughie. It's between The Red Shoes and The Kick Inside. I'd lean towards The Red Shoes, but there's not much in it.

Hounds Of Love is indeed her best.

My mum and my dad love Kate Bush, I wouldn't be suprised attall if they went out and bought it. I myself wouldn't call myself a fan, but she certainly is a great artist.

The only thing I really know of her is that:

1) She's pretty popular in England
2) Big Boi of Outkast is apparently a huge fan of hers

Therefore, she must be worth checking out.

I love her voice so much and Hounds of Love is pretty tremendous.

I heard the new single the other day and it didn't really grab me. I wasn't paying an awful lot of attention though so i'll have to give it another go. I think I was hoping for a more outgoing vocal.

I'm only familiar with her work with Peter Gabriel. Very nice singing voice, I must say.

See, I always hated her voice. I'll get myself down to HMV in the near future and pick up whatever of hers is on sale, see if I'm being plagued with false memories or something.

She's done a bit of work with Jeff Beck as well.
