well, dale barlow takes an ensemble class that i'm in.. he's one of australia's very best saxophonists, he's played with all the greats, and was in art blakey's band for a number of years. a really incredible player, but i doubt that'll help you in the UK. are you looking for an interview or something?

I say either Ornette Coleman of James Moody. My first choice would be James Moody, as he played with Dizzy Gillespie Dizzy's whole career and he played with tons of other awesome players. He has some really good stories, and is a great guy to talk to. Personally since he is 80 years old and still plays everywhere and still scats and still runs around on stage, I think that in itself is amazing.

If you ever get the chance, see the Dizzy All-Star Band, its just great to see a band where everything clicks almost every show they play.

Branford Marsalis.

Saw him last year in California.

Great player, he's a Marsalis for God's sake...
