Amber Pacific / Houston Calls / Socratic

Okay, so I got thew chance to see all three of these bands last night, and they were all really good. Overall, the whole show was great. Anyway, here is a short intro to each band:

Amber Pacific

Hometown: Washington, Seattle

Genre: Pop-Punk

Similar To: Hidden In Plain View, Halifax, Allister

Members:

Matt - Lead Vocals
Will - Guitar/Vocals
Greg - Bass
Dango - Drums
Justin - Guitar

These guys were awesome. I didn't expect them to have a lot of energy, but they really did. They seemed to be having a lot of fun the whole time, and the crowd was really into it. I figured they would be good, but I had no idea their show would be so much fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Houston Calls

Hometown: Rockaway, New Jersey

Genre: Pop-punk

Similar To: Motion City Soundtrack, Day At The Fair, Rufio

Members:

Chitty - Lead Vocals/Guitar
Jarrett - Bass
Kenny - Guitar
Okie - Keyboard/Vocals
Josh - Drums

I had never heard a song by these guys before last night, but they really impressed me. Their set was really good, and they seemed to be really into it. I get to see them again in a few weeks with Fenix TX and Allister. Should be fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Socratic

Hometown: Linden, New Jersey

Genre: Indie/Pop-punk/Rock

Similar To: No one. They have a sound that I haven't ever heard before.

Members:

Duane - Guitar/Vocals
Kevin - Guitar/Vocals
Vinny - Piano/Vocals
Adam - Bass
Tom - Drums

These guys have one of the most unique sounds I've heard in a while. Their sound is an exceptional blend of styles. They put on a really cool show too, and their songs are for the most part, incredibly catchy.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have the Fading Days EP and The Possibility And The Promise by Amber Pacific, A Collection Of Short Stories by Houston Calls, and Lunch For The Sky by Socratic. All are great albums, so if you're interested in any of them, leave either your e-mail address or your AIM screenname, and I will get you whichever album you want, ASAP.

Amber Pacific were my top artist acording to last.fm last week. I was hooked on that album when I first got it, although I don't listen to it much anymore. And I'm downloading Houston Calls album off SoulSeek right now, but it's been going all night and isn't even half done. I've never heard Socratic.

For Socratic, I'd suggest:
 • "Lunch For The Sky"
 • "The Dense Indents"
 • "She's The Type Of Girl"
 • "I Am The Doctor"

The first two aren't good at all. I'm tempted to pick up Socratic though just because of all of the good things I've heard.

No offence, but Houston Calls are a horrible band. I'm glad you put Socratic up there though, they released one hell of an album this year
