Bass solo songs

I'm after some longer bass solo songs. Ones that I can sit and play straight through and actually have it sound like a song without needing other players. Nothing over the top, more along the lines of Anesthesia, Cunning Stunts or even Californication.

I thought the second GP4 tab on www.mysongbook.com was pretty accurate but there was only 1 bit that didn't sound right

I can't seem to ever find a good tab of that song. I've found a few online but they're always wrong.

Look into Freeport Jam by John Myung, I'll be learning that as soon as I get my 6!

I think that might be a tad hard for him. I've begun learning it from Myungs instructional video. I can't find a good tab anywhere for it aswell. Solar groove is good to learn by Myung if you have the booklet.

My Generation - Thw Who

Open Sky - The Distillers, although this is punk so the rest of the bass in the song sucks.

Well I suppose, but it's a worth attempting!

man, I wish Myung still played Tung basses...and that the luthier hadn't became a restaurant owner instead.

Yeah, someday he said he may go back to making them... such a waste of talent. There were only 100 Tung basses ever made

You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon sounds good by itself. Also has an actual bass solo in it as well.

Eh, not very many people read the first post of the thread.

The threadstarter wants bass solos, not songs with bass solos.

tut tut..
