The voice wasn't dubbed tbh. She sounds pretty much how she sounds in interviews.

Also Eli(as) was a boy anyway.

The Fisher King

Kinda derailed in the second half, kind redeemed itself in the end. Overall it was pretty great.

Is it in Theatres? I've wanted to watch it for ages after seeing a thread about it a while back.

It was a good enough movie. Not bad not great. I had to turn on the subtitles though because I really couldn't understand what Terrence Howard was saying half the time.

Select theaters I believe. It was only in one theater that was even remotely close to me and I was fortunate enough that the theater playing it is only about fifteen minutes away. I'm sure you can find it at some theater near you.

After some research, its not playing in a single theatre in anywhere near me. It appears the closest place is either Quebec City or Montreal. Which is a good 16 hour drive from where I am lmao.

Looks like I'm waiting for someone to put up a DVD Rip in a fair few months and torrenting it.

The DVD screener has been out for ages. Don't expect a retail rip any time soon.

Everything about it is epic and beautiful. The environments are immense and inspiring, costumes and characters fanciful, and the story touching and skillfully paralleled between the reality and fiction of the diegesis. And, one would be hard pressed not to praise the little girl who was amazing as well.

The end, this part outside of the story, is just plain jaw-dropping what these people did. It's not really a spoiler if mentioned, but all the same is great to watch unfold without knowing ahead of time.

Mediocre for the most part, but there were 2 or 3 good scenes.

Spirited Away is the only Miyazaki movie I've seen. I really need to get the others.

I'd place Totoro a close second behind Spirited Away, and Mononoke just behind Totoro. I found Howl's Moving Castle to be disappointing. Compared to the depth of his other work, it was just shallow and shoe-horned an anti-war message that was never really explored but took away from the main plot of Sophie. Here's my thoughts on it:

Saw V- 5/10

Alright so...

Not having a ridiculous plot twist was nice. The traps were kind of cool. The good guy and the bad guy looking almost exactly the same was stupid; if one didn't talk funny I wouldn't have known the difference. I am sick of being brought back to previous movies and being informed about **** I don't care about, which this movie did a pissload of. All it suceeds in doing is confusing me about what time period the movie's in and making me feel uneasy.

They did enough harm to the timeline in number 4 when they said that John was motivated to start trapping people by the death of his baby, when it had already explained in number two that he started after trying to commit suicide. Which was it? They should just stick to making one movie at a time instead of all this jumping around, or just stop making movies. Either or.

Maybe he lost his baby, found out he had cancer and then just snapped.
They really ****ed up a lot of the storyline with this latest installment though.

Yea, supposedly this new guy had been around since the very first movie? It showed him helping with the trap where the fat guy has to crawl through barbed wire.

Anywho, I think they'd have to potential to churn out some more good films if they'd make one solid movie instead of trying so damn ahrd to mix and match parts from others.

Though I wouldn't mind it if they briefly explained what happened to Lawrence Gordon. If they're tying up loose ends, there's one to take care of.

Signs

Movie gets a pretty bad rep because of the ending. And the ending is admittedly nauseating. But it's a pretty decent watch, I think it's pretty good at creating tension and suspense and it makes good use of sounds (not so much the music) to tense the viewer up. Granted all the suspense is thrown in the window at THE END but whatever.

7/10

M. Night Shyamalan in general is pretty good. Though, he's kind of a douchebag.

He's made one great movie and two average movies. I don't consider that pretty good. He needs to collaborate with someone who is good at writing endings. He wrote one good ending and only because its been used before.

If you guys like Miyazaki I highly recommend Castle in the Sky and The Castle of Cagliostro. Porco Rosso is also very good.
