I watched "The American President" last night. It was kind of a girls movie but I enjoyed it. The actors were geat. I'd give it an 8/10.

Lord of War
It was pretty good, but some of the movie (especially during the middle part) was kind of slow. It was still a good movie overall. 8/10

Hart's War

It was on tv last night. It wasn't great but that's probably because I can't stand Colin Farrel. The ending was really sappy too.

At the risk of being made fun of Big Fat Liar
3.5/10, Frankie Muniz is a better actor than most give him credit for, and I guess it's a pretty fun kid movie, just not my thing.

I almost gave it an 8 because they completely left out any sort of reference to 'The Scouring of the Shire'. The near final chapters to the book. I mean, it would've been awesome to see the Hobbits of the Shire take back their lands from Saruman.

Other than that, everything was exceptional, and for leaving that chapter out, I grade it a bit lower than the rest.
You would think they'd atleast try and put some scene or reference in it. It's not like they didn't have time, the ending to the movie went on and on. I wanted to bang my head against a wall the first time I saw it.

Bridge On The River Kwai was just on, excellent film. Alec Guinness gives a fantastic performance, and William Holden wasn't bad either. The film also looked good and was well shot. David Lean really did make some fantastic films.

I actually quite liked that, for what it was. I like Paul Giamatti, though.

I just watched Deuces Wild. It was great seeing the guy from Boondock Saints playing a bad guy. I thought the rest of the movie was well-acted. Not the most original plot, but still an alright way to pass the time.

Watched You Only Live Once (1937) last night. Great noir film about a 3 time convited criminal who's trying to go straight but gets caught up and suspected of a crime he didn't commit (it's unclear in the plot whether he did or didn't).

Great film, really well shot and produced, not grainy at all. The camera work is brilliant.

saw the "Da Vinci Code" last night.

it was alright. it wasn't as bad as what i'd heard, but the book was better in my opinion. tom hanks and audrey tatou weren't that good (not bad either though) but i thought that ian mckellen and paul bettany were good. jean reno was ok i suppose. the film started to get boring towards the end. it could've used more action and less dialogue.

Altered States (1980)

A Harvard professor uses hallucinogens and a sensory deprivation tank in his experiment to find the ultimate truth but gets more than he bargained for when that truth starts externalizing itself.

There are some interesting psychological and philosophical wonderings in here but you might have to listen to it twice not just to understand it but to hear it as well (apparently the director didn't like the script - which he couldn't change - so he had his cast say it fast). The movie, aside from interesting, has a good assortment of characters and becomes suspenseful when it needs it. And, after seeing William Hurt in A History of Violence, it's was cool to see him play the lead here, like seeing Tim Robbins in Jacob's Ladder.

Second time i seen it, wasn't as good somehow. Perhaps it was the shock value that creeped me out the first time.

That movie is indeed awesome.

Anyway, I saw Batman Begins for the first time the yesterday. It was alright, I suppose, but didn't live up to the hype. It got a bit boring in places. The performances were mostly good, however.
