Yo, The Lego Movie is probably one of the best movies of the year. Such hate.

It's flooded with pop culture references and jokes on the same level, cringeworthy scenes, the banal kids movie message and everything hinting at the awesomeness of the Lego. Their excuse for the chosen one plot was because it's all from the imagination of the kid. And there was this annoying awareness that is shoved in every blockbuster these days (Oh look at that, we know it's silly wink* wink*). Nice way to be lazy, safe and avoid cliches huh? It was like watching a comedy show put together by teenagers. It shouldn't get a pass just because it's intended for children. There are a lot of movies for children with standards. This could've been a commercial, why a full length movie ? I got fooled by the hype and wasted my time.

If rape and poison, dagger and burning,
Have still not embroidered their pleasant designs
On the banal canvas of our pitiable destinies,
It's because our souls, alas, are not bold enough!

guardians of the galaxy was pretty solid, and i really don't care for 90+% of these typical marvel comic films

hopefully sin city is good i might have to throw some more money away and go see that too
