The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I like the series, but this one went too long. Should've ended on the downer and save the rest for the next one.

Thought it was great, except for the chase scene on the sled things.
Anderson has done better films, but that was his most stylistic, and I really enjoyed that about it.
Saoirse Ronan is the cutest.

it was too "try hard" for it to be enjoyable for me

and the story wasn't that exciting

it had some visually appealing moments and some good acting

i really don't know how to describe what i didn't like about it other than the above

like i'm not making it up, that's how i felt about it

compare it say, british pretentiousness or something

i found myself rolling my eyes or laughing at things throughout

anderson has potential and does a decent job but just unnecessarily does too much to seem creative

i literally knew nothing or read nothing about the film before watching it other than it was anderson's newest

i'm fully capable of forming my own opinions on things thanks

Yeah, I kinda see what you're saying. Like, it's a bit too over-the-top. Have you seen The Royal Tenenbaums? Still distinctly Anderson styled, but much more subdued. And a more memorable storyline. Probably my favourite of his films.

you literally said nothing guitarded. how do you counter a non-point?

try hard? try hard to do what? be entertaining?

I found it completely entertaining. Anderson's movies are all about the characters. He has characters in spades in this movie

see, I have to invent an argument for you just to fucking argue. its pointless

i enjoyed that as well

i'd say budapest is my favorite anderson film and perhaps that's why the little unnecessary subtle elements bothered me so much as the held it back, for me anyway

on a scale of x and y, where y is norm's level of entertainment derived from a film viewing, and x is the number of characters, we have a linearly positive relationship

brilliant

Just rewatched Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, The World According to Garp and The Fisher King, definitely my favorite Robin Williams movies. What was so great about this guy is that he did both great cinema masterpieces and fun light comedies, so he was able to reach a very large audience.
