also watched gravity last night. it was good

i wouldn't put it in the great category. a ton of unrealistic events occur in the movie.

i'm also led to be believe i'm supposed to feel something when she makes it to the beach. yea, nothing

i bet the things you think are unrealistic are like 'she made it in to the hatch, i mean what are the chances'

gravity was only great on the technical aspect

the rest of the film was incredibly dull and underdeveloped

I loved it. The technical stuff WAS the emotional stuff so I found it incredibly easy to get involved in the narrative, fantasy and all.

Didn't love it, or like it really. I dunno. Dialogue/backstory/"character development" felt silly because the movie didn't really commit and the kinetic nonsense (lol, when she starts spinning around on the module or w/e) had the opposite problem. Which, y'know, felt silly in a different way. By the last twenty minutes when there's just that narratively blank "oh, maybe she'll burn up on the path back to Earth, except clearly not" I was checking my phone, something I can usually stave off until the end.

she was smart because she invented something for the hubble

she was extremely stupid when she didn't listen when it was time to go inside and after panicking and realizing you she was running out of air, she still was breathing like a damn retard. she did nothing to conserve her air.

oh waah waa lets give up and kill ourselves after some dude committed suicide so i could go on. oh no, let's have a hallucination about him being alright and telling me what to do

except it was my sub-conscious

if she would have burned up on reentry it would have been epic

I don't get this. Almost every shot (technical) and decision she made (narrative) was directly linked to her backstory. I get it being over the top silly but it's a science fantasy. Idk. Even before the film begins, the plot element of the crash, that could never happen. The film writes its own logic and sticks to it, which I find easier to gel with (and allow the film to earn) than action flicks with little regard for continuity.
