Prometheus

When I first saw it in theaters, I was pretty disappointed with some of the loose ends and unanswered questions. However, this time around, I walked away with a different perception. I think it helped that my friends and I had a pretty lengthy debate about some of the themes brought up in the movie, so I appreciated it a little more I believe. Plus, I was less hung up on its connections to the original Alien, so that helped to make it more enjoyable.

8/10

100 Bloody Acres - 6.5/10

Decent horror/comedy, but nothing particularly special

Watched Oblivion at the weekend. Rather enjoyed it. I enjoy Cruise films a lot more these days knowing that he's as mad as a box of frogs.

Nods towards 2001 etc but rather entertaining.

Andrea Risenborough too. I say. Ding dong.

holy rollers sucked
Flight was decent
Natural Born Killers was trippy, good enough, but a bit annoying. been a while since I was it.
Couldn't finish 10 minutes of Solomon Kane, what a load of crap
End of Watch, couple of weeks since I saw it, but I like it a lot

You're Next

As fun as I've had in theaters in a while. Laugh out loud funny while still being rather suspenseful. Some leaps in logic but not in the usual places. Otherwise, a well paced thrill ride that thinks its audience intelligent.

Only God Forgives. Beautiful cinematography, great soundtrack. Drive was undoubtedly the better film, although I do prefer OGF's score.

Robot & Frank

A long-retired jewel thief, and current Alzheimer's patient, is given a robot by his son to take care of him, and maybe spark a little life in him.

There's a nice theme of what it means to be human, and the relationship between the robot and Frank is both heart-breaking and inspiring. Good stuff.

I think my last actual movie was You're Next, which was pretty clever and really energetic and stuff, but I'm going to be watching Amazing Bulk, so that should be fun.

I saw that and thought 'oh this'll be funny bad' but no it was mostly just painful, haha. The RedLetterMedia review was great though.

Brings the feels during that scene when he crawls out of the shit pipe and revels in the rain

hey firecracker is THAT the scene where he tells the blonde what is what and she knowingly bows her head in shame while sitting on the bed, as if suddenly transparent for all to see?

i love that scene. its one of my fave ever in all of film

and when she says "with who? other drug dealers?" when talking about who they will stay with in NYC?

and he just looks at her clear eyed and says "Yes!"

that is awesome

no good
Jodie foster and the evil mercenary dude both had really weird delivery like they couldn't do enough takes of each scene or something

Pawn Shop Chronicles

A light-hearted tale of interconnected stories surrounding pawned items with a satanic motif and some sex slavery to make sure your paying attention.

Prometheus

7.5/10
One of the best prequels I've ever seen (this one is Alien series). I actually kept wishing it was longer towards the end of the movie because they left part of the plot unfinished. I'm already hoping for a continuation. Really strong Sci-Fi/Horror movie with amazing visuals.

It's kind of boring with invisible aliens that are about as menacing as the wind in The Happening.
