Can't go wrong with the Crate gx212.

I still have first Gen I bought in 1999 and still sounds good.

I think they're just over $100 now days too

My beginner was a fender squire with a Seymour Duncan humbucker. Good range from clean, crunch, blues and leads. It was $300 back then.

bc rich warlock, line 6 spider and a boss metalzone

just kidding. definitely do NOT go with either.

Check out what's in blackstar's range of products right now. Easily my favorite amp for metal, and can get pretty diverse too with the clean channel. as for guitar, im partial to gibson guitars, so I guess check out a couple of epiphones?

Yamaha Pacifica is a boring but reliable choice for all purposes. And it's not very expensive.
