That thread that hybridofsound made
Remember that one? The one explaining how to make a review? Well, that or something like it needs to be put on sputnik. There are way too many dodgy reviews coming up and it needs to be made compulsory (somehow) for new people to know how to write a review.
Either that or the site needs more mods to help clean it up a bit. Prevention is better than a cure though. |

I'll second that, I only ever did two reviews but Hybrid's guide really did help.

Regarding that point:
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=330074 http://www.musicianforums.com/sputnik/guidelines.php It has been integrated into the submission form, but if the n00bs don't bother to read, what can you do? It's the same as with sticky threads in the Pit for example. Med57 and I are technically mods for Sputnik, but it does not quite work as it should, so we are unable to do something at the moment. But I'm already keeping a to-do list, so when it finally works to mod for us, prepare for some major clean up. ![]() |

Maybe in order to register to Sputnik, there should be a mandatory quiz on review writing with something before it to read with all the answers. If you don't pass you don't join. It's a shame I think that would be necessary but some people are complete idiots.

hmmm. Maybe more mods is the only solution. But the thread still needs to be more visible. And there should be a warning that you get a short ban if you submit a sub standard review or something.

Locals can be given banning powers, don't know if that counts for a site specific mod though.

Do you think it would work if they were able to ban though?

Genres need to be added or I'm not going back there.
