Serial Numbers?

can someone tell me what year and everything else my bass was made the serial number is MN511823 and it is a Fender Jazz Bass MIM

The MN is Mexican made, and the first number afterwards is the year or 2005. The following numbers precede to colour, neck wood, ect...

so if it was made in 1975 what woudl ti say?

MN5 ??? But tha twould mean 2005. So what's it mean.

If it was made in 1975 then it wouldn't have been made in Mexico. Fender didn't start producing basses out of the USA until about 1980 or 81, and they were made in Japan under the Squire name.

I tried using MN as an example. I mean if the serials mean the next digit is the year. If it said SOANDSOJPWINTERCOOLCOOLCOLIMSOGREAT5

I have a japan made fender jazz bass with a serial number of e679965 i think it was made between 84-87. How much can it be worth?

means its CIJ, and the '04 means 2004. yay.
