Thrice DVD: If We Could Only See Us Now

Ya I got this yesterday. It's a comprehensive view of Thrice's career up until today plus music videos, a b-sides CD, and some amazing live videos. A lot of the songs have modifications or alternate/added endings that are just amazing. A lot of them are really brutal too. I like that they don't aspire to be a jam band or anything but manage to rearrange their songs and keep them fresh live. I recommend this thing to anyone. Anybody else have it?

It mentions the LA area but doesn't talk about Irvine. There are shoutouts and mentions of all the venues and random local shows they played. Footage of it too.

Hmm, not to bag on the DVD. But it's lame how they mention the LA area when they are from Irvine and Irvine isn't really that close to LA. Did it mention Chain Reaction/Showcase Theatre/Glasshouse?

I just got it tonight and haven't watched the DVD yet, I only heard the CD and the first 2 songs Eclipse and Motion Without Meaning or whatever it's called are the only 2 good songs on it, the rest are acoustic or sucky.

No no. I meant the whole LA area, including Orange County and Irvine. At one point when Riley is talking about touring in Europe he says, "little band from Orange County" despite being from Irvine. They speak very broadly in terms of geography because they were local to everybody around that area. They mention the Chain Reaction and smaller ones like Kono's (don't know how to spell it sort of don't remember?).

Two are covers, one is live, three are acoustic, and "That Hideous Strength" just owns. I can't believe you're trashing that song. So sweet.

Ahh, that sounds better then. I thought they just said they were from LA or something. Yeah, it's weird how they went to my high school and some of the teachers remember having them in class. Now they're the big thing for a lot of people. My friend actually lives down the street from their bassist, but he never sees him.

They should donate some to my school. My parents have spent well over 1000 bucks for me and my sister to goto school here...and then the school is falling apart with outdated equipment.

We had to buy like 5 books for english. All kinds of fees for classes. Bus fees for sports. Other sports fees. Random fees. Fees for the previous fees. Hahahah. It never stops. Then they call your house asking for donations.

Tell you the truth I didn't listen to the whole thing, I just heard Cold Cash & Colder Hearts acoustic and I turned it off. Sorry Thrice but that's going too far.

No dude. Thrice is amazing. The acoustic adaptations are really great. I saw Dustin Kensrue live over the summer and he has a great ability for acoustic conversion. His versions of "Round Here" by Counting Crows and "Creep" by Radiohead destroyed.

Don't get me wrong, I love Thrice's unplugged tracks, I just didn't think Cold Cash was a good song to do an acoustic track to. They're unplugged version of Trust was amazing.
