Uh....for some reason my TLC bio, from the first ' onwards, went missing. Anyone care to tell me why?

There is a limit for biographies, it seems. I wrote an extensive bio for Memento but I got caught off, so I submitted another extremely vague and boring bio, and that's the current bio on the site.

I hate taking the time to write a nice, detailed bio, and to have it cut off after 100 characters or so

Mine was cut off after 3 words.

Post-punk should be a subgenre of both punk and indie instead of just indie.

Also, At the Drive-In belongs in post-punk. As does Bear vs. Shark. modern post-punk that is.

I don't know if it is possible to file the genre under two main genres. But I doubt it, as it would create some problems with the DB from all I remember about database-creation. mx would have to comment on that one.

The thing about ATDI makes sense, I edited it. Can't find the other band though

Nice usertitle, Damrod... hahahaha.

This review is pure balls. I should just get the album and review it. That's two horrible reviews in a row for this album.

Well, the first one showed potential, but he did not like to add more details to make it better *shrugs*

I'll read through it, and take action then (leave a note to add more detail, or kick it)

This isn't a good review, either. It got transferred over in January, and didn't really get posted in until recently.

Oh man this is painful to see but go to the front page recently after this post. The lowerst ranked recent review is for Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness. What sputnik is broadcasting is that they support ranking a Simple Plan album above Smashing Pumpkin's revolutionary 90s 2-disc classic. Is this a joke? There needs to be some system of moderation so that fanboys can't fuck up this site so much.

Taken care of. Thanks for letting us know

Hm, I see what you mean. This gives the suggestion by (I think it was) Iai who suggested, the average user rating should be displayed under the reviewers rating thinking about it...
I'll post something about it for Jeremy, as I got one or two ideas for this that could help solve this.

Thanks for reporting

EDIT: Something_Vague, the reviewer of the Smashing Pumpkins CDs noted at the bottom that his unbiased rating of the album would be somewhere between 4 and 5. So he's not that far off

Edit album title into review. There's already a review for this particular album, so just combine the two into one link, or whatever special skills you may have to take care of this. "An Answer Can Be Found" is what I [i]think[i] the album is called, but I'm not positive, but I do recall seeing it on Sputnikmusic before.

Mod powers... fail...

Somehow, the review refuses to take the album title... But I'll find a workaround

Dammyrod, I think we need to have certified reviewers and you have to prove yourself. Then maybe you could color the stars. Have the stars be like empty if it's not a certified reviewer, bronze, then silver, then gold for increasing quality of reviewer. Seriously I just reach a review by Kif who isn't terrible but he gave Something Corporate 9/10. I just don't get it.

Back when you suggested that for the first time in the ideas-thread (I think it was there), I suggested the idea to Jeremy. To cut the story short, we (Med and I) and he agreed that something would have to be done to put the reviewers rating in some relation. As we have somewhat of a good reviewer stamp with the Top15 brand, Jeremy rather wanted to go with the user average rating.

And, just because Kif thinks SC is not bad, does not mean he's a bad reviewer. He just has a different taste in music. And though neither you or I do share it, I think it must be respected as well.

Whatever man. I just think it's imperative if you want to run a legit site. Or maybe have the reviews have to go through a mod filter like at punknews.org where the reviews are much more balanced. They don't just let fanboys write reviews. They only take well thought out intelligent reviews. It makes for much better reading.

I understand that. I was making a joke. Damrod I don't really like your taste in music and I've told you that. I aptly criticize the reviews. Ta da, that's my real outlet, not whining about how anybody could possibly like Something Corporate in here. Because that would lower me to their level...Something Corporate...with the whining. And the unecessary keyboard.

punknews.org is a fairly broad site and even includes hip hop and all sorts of indie and metal so actually the broadness problem applies to them as well. It's generally underground music and they've been established for a while now. I guess it'd be a good idea to wait until it got established and then weed out the crappy reviews. Have a freaking cleansing of the site.
