Grand Magus, Hail!
Come one and come all, let me introduce you to the living wonder that is:
Grand Magus Magus are a trio hailing from sunny Stockholm and consist of: JB - Lead Vocals + Guitar Fox - Backing vocals + bass Trisse - Drums. Genre: Essentially rock, but with a very heavy Blues influence Releases: They have two full length releases under their belt, 2002's "Grand Magus" and 2004's "Monument" and a third, “Wolf’s Return”, planned for release this year. Grand Magus: This is their debut, and best effort to date. On this album you have your conventional rock sound but with a heavy blues influence incorporated into it rather fantastically. The songs are of decent length, simple and just brilliant. Every song features fantastic riffage, contagious hooks, and clean, soaring vocals and great solos. There is seriously nothing you can dislike about this album. This album has a very stripped down and raw sound, the overdubs themselves barely amounting to four or five in the entirety of the album. Recommended Tracks: Gauntlet Legion Never Learned Generator Monument: This is their second effort, and whilst it doesn’t mach up to their debut it is by no means a bad album. It has the same basics as their S/T but it generally has a darker feel to it. Also some of the songs tend towards an epic frame of mind, occasionally stretching up to nine/ten minutes. The album also loses the raw feel of the first one, with the production being of better quality and with the addition of overdubs and so on. Enjoy ![]() I got around to doing this thread to silence my doubters. I love threads that incorporate the use of brain cells and require a lot of effort by the threadstarter to upload songs for us to listen to.
I am very sad that I missed this thread the first time around for some particular reason ![]() EDIT: Oh, I think I know why... I was home for Spring Break during these days, and my connection at home was crapping out and I wanted to wait until I got back to uni, and I guess I forgot about them :-\ |
