I heard that they're not touring anymore because neil's shoulder isn't healing well from the last tour, but it could be a rumor.

3 Musical Geniuses = Rush
I saw Rush on thier Power Windows Tour . Neil Peart best drummer ever PERIOD. I also saw them on the tour when they had the song "Time Stands Still" cant remember the name of the album or tour(smoked way too much weed back then). Last edited by 6stringslinger; 03-02-2005 at 10:43 PM. |

I love Rush. I think everything from Fly by Night to Signals is at least awesome. Hemispheres is probably my favourite, but Farewell, MP, and Permanent Waves come close.

Rush is like... Dream Theater. They don't focus enough on songwriting. It's all wankery in it's own respect.
They wish they were King Crimson. |

Oh and Geddy Lee's singing is the most annoying sound I've ever heard.
Neil Pert is overrated, much like Portnoy. They both wish they were Bruford. If they don't they ought to. I don't have much to say about Alex Lifeson. As a band... Ugh it's all just far too overrated. I can't stand it. |

![]() And great to see a Rush thread. Rush is the band that got me into traveling all over the place for concerts. And who else puts on a 3-hour show with intermission? I think we're lucky to still have them around.Btw what happened to Neil's shoulder? |

One of the greatest bands of all time. Favorite songs include 2112, Tom Saywer, Freewill and the Spirit of Radio.
All hail at the throne of Geddy Lee! (I play bass.) |

Ever. Rush wrote the book on radio hooks in arena and FM rock. A hit single or two every album up to Distant Early Warning. King Crimson nor Dream Theater can claim such a feat. Dream Theater are so overeducated and overskilled it's nauseating. King Crimson are egomaniacal and self indulgent. Rush maybe a bit self endulgant, but they poke fun at that all the time, especially live, and as well in their music. No band stuck to their guns longer than Rush. "All this machinery making modern music can still be open-hearted. Not so coldly charted, tt's really just a question of your honesty, yeah, Your honesty! One likes to believe in the freedom of music, But glittering prizes and endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity." Rush are and always will be one of the greatest bands ever for melding brilliant musicianship with radio presence. No other band has ever done the same thing for so long. I love them a great deal, and respect folks who hate them, even if it is the simple fact that they can't get over Geddy's voice. |

Well what can i really say about this band... My favourite prog-rock band! I own 10 albums of their discography and i want to buy them all! I wish i could see them live once but i dont think they will ever come to Greece :-(
My favourite albums are: 1.A farewell to kings 2.Permanent waves 3.Moving Pictures or 2112 I have everything up to Moving Pictures (and Rush in Rio). What do you suggest to buy next? P.S. I adore Alex's guitar playing! |
