Since everyone else is doing it, the thread for us poor bassists with **** basses!

yea, this thread is for us musicians who cannot afford elite modulus/musicman/warwick basses, so we settle for low-end pieces of ****. so, post your ****ty bass and show pics if you got em..i have an ibanez gsr200 and to make it sound semi-decent when i record on my pc i have to use several effects such as a small amount of distortion w/ custom tool-like EQ settings. doesn't sound too shabby though for a $200 bass (you can listen to a bunch of my **** on my site at the bottom). i will hopefully be upgrading to a mid-range bass soon (possibly a fender j or p bass) for my birthday or just whenever i have extra money lying around ..

*points and laughs*

-Vietnow- has a Silvertone that he not only defretted, he scalloped the 12th, 9th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd frets. I don't know how that works, but it does.

According to him, a file works best. He started out with a serrated knife and cut the hell out of his left thumb on accident.

Monterey Stage Series!!!! It's alright I guess. I've sanded the body down. It was sunburst and covered in stickers.

Well one day i was playing bass outside, and my dogs started to fight. Like really rip into each other, so I tried to break it up. My bass swung around and hung like, behind my arse. So as i was fighting the dogs off each other, one of them fell into me, and i fell over. My bass was under my ***, my bass made bad contact with the concrete, my 80kg *** made contact with my bass that was on the concrete. And bang, knobs all cracked except for one. It wasn't pretty. I ordered knobs from Billy Hydes, (myl\ local music store) about 2 months ago, and they still haven't come in.

Well that was my story, ain't that interesting. Sorry for wasting yur time.

Yea, I'll go back this weekend, if they don't have em then, I'll ask for my money back. Go elsewhere to get some knobs.
