Bassist's Effects Thread

Hi, basically post up what effects bassists use. If so, a little about the effect and a picture.

CHRIS WOLSTENHOLME'S EFFECTS

Chris uses one amp for clean sound and one amp for all his distorsions and effects. Chris mainly uses distorsion pedals.

Electro Harmonix Big Muff

Bought by Chris in Japan for 80 quid, this very famous pedal (made in Russia by a military industry company called Sovtek) is actually an electric guitar distorsion pedal. Matt Bellamy has his own but Chris's one is dark green and Matt's has a golden finish.

Akai SB1 Deep impact

This bass effect pedal gives Chris some big, fat, nasty, throbbing analog synth sounds. Nine presets and nine user presets are available.

Boss Turbo Overdrive

Another electric guitar effect that Chris has decided to include in his setup. Matt also uses this effect.

Line 6 POD

Chris first used this amp modeler effect during a Japan tour and he appreciated the quality of the sound created so he included it in his gear.

I found that online at www.museandamuse.com

This is a great release by Toneworks. I have been using it for awhile now. Has a drum machine and around 200 different effects. You can get pretty much any sound you want out of this thing. The only thing i dont like about it is its kinda hard to switch in the middle of a song. It would have been more convient as a peddle.

Just wondering which effect Chris Wolstenholme uses to get that slap kind of effect without acrually slapping on songs like Uno, Plug in Baby and Hyper Music?

Im pretty sure its an effect coz i saw them live and he didnt switch basses for Plug in baby but still got that sound and he didnt slap?
