Ibanez BTB405

A full-sized body crafted of premium woods. Passive pickups. Substantial neck. The BTB has all the features, quality, and sound (and great looks) of pricey boutique basses—at a cost the working player can afford. If you think really you have to mortgage the house or sell your furniture to get a good high-end bass, you owe it to yourself to try one of the BTB Prestige models.

The Basics
• 35" neck scale provides superior articulation. Perfect for 5-strings.
• Custom Bartolini active EQ's and passive humbucking pickups (on BTB1000 models) designed specifically to complement the BTB's 35" neck scale.
• 18-volt circuitry provides much greater headroom than found on standard active EQ's.
• Off-center line neck shape (BTB Prestige models) makes upper-fret work as easy as playing the lower frets.

I've always liked Ibanez basses and anyone whos starting to play bass should definitley look into them. Check out the GSR200. Ibanez basses just seem to have a nice feel to them and they seem so easy to play.

The BTB came with Elixir strings which feel amazing to and make it so much easier to play. They last for ages to. So I've started to buy them instead of anything else.

The bass is built excellently and could easily be used to gig with. On some basses, I've noticed that the strap holders sometimes come out. On my old bass I had to glue them in. This hasn't happened with my BTB. I'm really pleased about this and shows the quality of the wood and the general build of the bass.

There are two streaks of different colour wood down the back of the neck which give an amazing look to the rear and finish the design off nicely. It can sit easily on your knee and hangs perfectly if standing with no problem at all. It is heavy, but in the bass world, heavy is good.

The active electronics allow for amazing tone and a variety of styles. The tone controls change the sound massively and are really usefull.

Overall, the BTB405 is simply amazing! I don't think I'll play anything other than Ibanez again.
