**Rage Against The Machine**

Well I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any discussion thread about ratm. They are easily one of my favorite bands, and I thought we could use this thread to talk about them.

I'll start off with a simple subject: favorite album?

For me it would have to be self titled, for sure.

a RATM thread pops up every so often.
Rae ar egreat, every album has it's highlights but for my favourite its very close between Evil Empire and s/t as both have so many great songs. The live DVD is great as well, but is lacking some of my favourite songs.

And please....no one bring up audioslave in here, all the comparisons have been done already!

Haha, yeah I figured someone would mention audioslave eventually. It's best to leave that overdone conversation be

And idk I honestly never really like evil empire and renegades all that much. I prefer Battle of L.A. and Self Titled.

Battle of L.a had some great tracks, and some not great tracks. And since Renegades was a covers album I don't really count it as Rage, If you get what I mean.
Anyway each to their own, I think the majority will go for s/t though

*raises hand*

Confirmed RATM fan here. I'd probably go with the self-titled too; there's just too many classic songs on there.

The songs on the self-titled are great, but I just don't like how it sounds. So I'd say my favorite is Battle of LA.

Their self titled is definitely in my tp 10 albums of all time. I love all their albums apart from Evil Empire which i haven't heard yet. I don't care too much for Audioslave though, their album didn't really impress me. What's Zach been up too since Rage split up?

Didn't Zach go off and fight with Mexico against America or something? That's what a friend told me

He did a song with DJ Shadow called March of Death, which used to be up for download at www.marchofdeath.com, and may well still be. It's a great track, was half of my introduction to DJ Shadow.

easily battle of l.a. but self titled was pretty bodacious to.....anyone think rage will ever get back together if hopefully audioslave breaks up.... and by break up i mean there singer leaves......a new rage cd would kick *** and theyd have plenty to write about being a political band in a time when politics are at its worst

No problem. It's just the one song, though, and it's not rock/metal (not totally, anyway, as you'd expect from DJ Shadow involvement).
