We got mauled, it was bad, our passing was CRAP. Rooney got pissed off and started puting dirty tackles in, got book, so sven pulled him off. Spain scored, and got a penelty becuase robinson got the ball from the guy, not actully tackled, but he saved it. And everytime one of our black players got the ball, there was loads of racist chants from spainish crowd. But Spain deserved to win, just the crowd let them down, a LOT.

Thats most of it.

It was 1-0 to spain in the end. Somehow they managed to not score more despite having 64% of possesion. England were pretty much awful and too many stupid tackles were going in for my liking.

Yeah, i agree. If it was England who had behaved like that then we would be extremely heavily fined and kicked out of a major tournament. I bet Fifa bottle it though.

The spanish fans did exactly the sdame thing in the U21 match yesterday.

And their diving was disgraceful too

No wonder Ashley Cole was well P**sed off. I would have felt like breaking some legs if was in his position, he should get a medal for his self discipline!

Dont understand whats going with the England team though. After taking two or three touches each player panics and then concedes possession! Not the makings of a world class team!

I thought the ref was terrible. He allowed the spanish to get away with some ridculous diving, and gave the penalty agaibst robinson which was an incredible decision. And also the booking for a perfectly goo tackle by Cole. His decisions just provoked the situation

Friendlys never have good play. But last night was just a mass brawl at times. It had such a weird atmosphere to the match last night, before the jerk off chantings.

I was really backing Wright Phillips to either score or break someones legs.

Same! It was a horrible match and an awful example for football, especially with all the 'Let's Kick Racism Out of Football' campaigns on at the moment. However I wouldn't go as far as kicking them out of the world cup. Just a hefty fine would do it and an apology from the Spanish FA to the English FA, and at most a few points deducted from their qualifying campaign. Rooney was as much of a disgrace though for throwing his arm-band on the ground. Although I could feel (although not as much) his anger of all the diving from the Spanish, he had no right to show disrespect to two very respected football figures. I think Sven should of just taken him off at half-time which was a couple of minutes away anyway, instead of showing it up.

But away from the negatives of the game, I was very impressed with Spain, especially Xavi, and they could do well in the World Cup, if they concentrate on playing instead diving so much. Paul Robinson played well I felt, and saved well off the penalty, and the penalty decision I think summed up the match of a complete joke in all areas. I think England need to look for a new full-back to replace Gary Neville as I thought he was god-awful, but to be honest not many were much better.

To say that gary neville is awful is ridiculous, i'm no man utd fan but it's pretty clear that after a rocky start to his international career he's matured into a high class full-back doing well both defensively and offensively. He did lose it a bit with some bad tackles on reyes but that was overspill from that god-awful match against arsenal the other week.
When Gary Neville does get replaced i hope j-lloyd samuel gets the place, i've heard great things from villa fans about him this season.

I agree with everything that's been said about the racism and spain should be punished but kicking them out won't benefit anyone. Make them play a couple of matches in empty stadiums, that might work but never forget that there are groups of england fans who are just as bad as the spaniards were on wednesday. Just think back to the match against turkey where there were chants of "I'd rather be a paki than a turk".
It's all disgraceful.

It is disgraceful, but when England were being racist, they got told they had a good chance of being banned from a mjor tournament. Nothing's been done about the Spanish FA.

Nothing's been done YET. Anyway, the worst place for this kind of thing is definately italy, Lazio and Roma have both had a lot of problems with racism over the past few years and unlike things in england they're getting worse. Some insults are even aimed at their own players and fans standing next to them in the crowd. Hopefully FIFA will grow some teeth eventually, preferably without sepp blatter in charge but rant's for another time

To be honest i dont think rooney realised he was being disrespectfull throwing the arm band, looked like one of those spare of the moment anger things. Hes appologised now any way.
