I am wrestling for my first year this year because my football coach is pushing me. I am really just doing it to become a better football player, but I have taken a liking to it.

i'm wrestling for my 4th year. i'm not all that great, but it's an awesome sport. don't you guys get mad when your friends say they don't wrestle because they "don't like to hug sweaty guys." i get that all the time, it's so gay.

umm...Its isnt one of the thoughest sports. There are a hell of a lot of sports out there that are way more physically demanding then wrestling.

And also wrestling is gay, i mean what kind of homosexual moron actually enjoys rolling around with other sweaty guys in spandex.

I take it you've never wrestled or been to a wrestling practice to see what they do.

Moron. You could say the same about any sport if you are very narrow-minded. In football you wear tights and hug each other. In basketball you rub up against other sweaty guys (posting up). In soccer you wear short shorts and are not man enough to use your hands. Once again, you have probably never wrestled in your life, so stop being a *****.

*I don't acually think that about those sports, I was just using examples of how people like himself would think.

Well im from Australia so we dont have American football so i could care less about the clothes warn in that

In basketball there is alot less grabing and wearing of spandex like there is in wrestling

and as for soccer which i play, and is the greatest sport in the world, atleast it is possible to win without having to rub up agianst an other guy, grab him, and try to pin him under you. Comon wrestling is just an excuse to realse homosexual urges.

the thing about wrestlers is that theyre either completely homosexual, or just really comfortable with their sexuality

well there might be more physically demanding sports, but there isn't a more demanding school sport. plus it's a lot more mentally demanding than you think.

one more thing, and this is to "Whats in a name?" Would you care if you're touching a guy (i'm not talking about grabbing his nuts) if you're in a fight with them? the answer is no, and that's how it feels when you're wrestling. you're not thinking about what it looks like, in fact that's about the last thing you're thinking about.

^yeah, youre basically just focusing on staying alive for the entire 6 minutes and pinning the guy

and to the guy who said it wasnt hard, you try going through 6 minutes of hell, you need everything for wrestling, strength to control the other guy and get him down, technique to reach to what he does, endurance to survive the entire match without passing out, and you cant be a pansy, cause a lot of the moves cause a lot of pain

Oh you poor simple idiot.
English football, is not harder than wrestling, wrestling may not be the hardest sport in the world (although it is very hard), it is harder than english football, English football is cardio only, you need a mixture of technique and cardio vascular endurance.
For wrestling you need techniques, cardio vascular endurance, and strength, You don't see many wrestlers eating fast food on a week end, but you can catch many footballers.

What is wrong with homosexual people?
Why don't you go be narrowminded elsewhere, although im sure it would be fitting to have an openly homosexual wrestler pin you for 6 minutes.

Don't pull any english football is great crap, because there is not a single football player who could compare to an average wrestlers strength, football is not a harder sport than wrestling. It is much easier by comparision, If you are not good at goal scoring you don't have to go up front, you have a team to support you, in wrestling, It's just you and the other guy, if you can't grapple very well then there isn't anyone else around to help you out.

EDIT : If anyone in the UK knows about any places I could learn/take part in wrestling, I'd love to here of them.

ok lets think about when i fight some one
1 there is no wearing of spandex

2 there is little grabbing at all. When im in a fight all i am thinking about is beating the living crap out of the other person by punching them, not trying to pin them underneath me.

3 how mentally demanding is wrestling anyway , the concept is pretty easy, pin the other sweaty spandex wearing guy under you, while looking like two guys trying to realse sexual tension.

? im sorry if what i typed made you belive that i think English football is a more difficult sport then wrestling, since i have never wrestled i cant say one sport is more difficult then another can i.

my response was only ment to make the point that English football ISNT as homosexually demanding as wrestling.
