and RPG burried treasure: Wild A.R.M.S.

Wild A.R.M.S.

this game rules. when it came out, it was overshadowed by all the FF7 hype. and it didnt have any showy graphics to create any of it's own hype.

this game deserves a lot more attention than it gets. it has some of the best videogame music i know of (lots of western acoustics, harmonicas, some latin horn and guitar work, etc, along with some spacey music with synthesizers, depending where you are in the game).

the graphics are remminiscent of ff6. but the landscapes have different themes.
one theme is a very western, frontier-esq style. one is a very mediavel style. one is a very colorful, futuristic space style, fused with roman stuff, etc.
and i like this, being that most RPG's around this time were all set in mystical mediavel settings, this was a good break.

also, you switch between characters alot, really fluently. different characters have different uses. each character has different tools.

rudy:
-bombs (blows up rocks and boxes)
-radar (detects treasure in barrels, boxes, etc)
-punch (breaks mirrors, windows, and knocks down certain things)
-roller blades (roll over lava without being hurt, but you cant stop until you hit a wall)

jack:
-pet rat (shoots straight out in front of him. he can run over gaps the character cant cross and pickup treasure)
-grapple
-lighter (burn bushes, light lanterns)
-mayan guitar (summon fight)

cecilia:
-tear drop (activate magic doors, etc)
-pocket watch (turn back time to the way it was when you entered the room. mainly for puzzles that you can mess up)
-wand (hear animals speak)
-water vase (put out fires)

all in all, i love this game. you probably will too. try it out, or look it up on gamefaqs and check it out to see if you might be interested in it.
