Or not? Just because I've never played a guitar before doesn't mean I don't play other instruments and don't know what it takes to become good at one, k?

Sorry man, had me in stitches that comment and don't know why. You're such a dick, but I can't help but laugh.

No I listened to them a lot before I joined Spuntik, but then I started listening to heavier stuff. Still listen to them occasionally though

Until James Hetfield opens his mouth. Does that guy always need to sustain every last word of every line he sings?

Beginner songs

Hello....................

Look me and some friends are making a band and we are great on are instruments but we dont play good together yet. what are some beginner songs that we can learn so we can practice playing together

i agree with Sammy Bird Metallica is the greatest band to ever grace this earth.
but i would go with:
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" - Nirvana (duh)
"Smoke on the Water" - Deep Purple
"Ironman"- Black Sabbath
"Kyrptonite" - 3 Doors Down
"For Whom The Bells Toll" - Metallica (the song my attempt at a band started with)

White Stripes is a pretty generic starter band.

Steve Miller Band - The Joker - Easy - Steady start/stop bass lick.
War - Low Rider - Easy - Good to help with constant bass work.

Oh, and Nirvana - In Bloom - Easy - Good, simple bass lick to play that stands out in the verses.
