Rules & Regulations of the Bass Forum
Guide to the Bass Forum: Rules & Regulations
*The Lessons Archive and the Resources section are not sections of the forum where you should post new threads asking questions. The Lesson section is for lessons written by our members. Feel free to leave comments within the threads. *Know the difference between "Post Reply" and "New Thread." A thread, by definition, is a topic unto itself. You would be a thread starter- asking a question or starting a topic. If you wish to make a comment in an established thread, please click on the "Post Reply" button. *Please use proper English. It makes it difficult for members to read posts that are in hacker language, or are seriously abbreviated (i.e.: NE1). Abbreviating things like LOL, WTF... are perfectly acceptable. Spelling and Grammar are a bonus as well... but a typo is certainly forgivable. MAIN RULES *Do NOT disrespect, bash, flame, etc. members of the forum because you disagree with their race, religion, sexual preference, country of origin, poor english due to it being a second language, favorite bassist, preference of pick/fingers, bass used/liked, equipement used/liked, genre played/liked, etc. This a community, keep it that way. Of course heated arguments may arise, but be the bigger person and refrain from personal comments. Those who do not abide, will have to deal with me. *Do NOT spew racial or ethnic slurs or vulgarities in our forum. To do so will result in an immediate ban. NO EXCEPTIONS. *Do NOT spam. Spam is considered to be pointless posts, completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread, or the topic of the moment. A spam thread would be a thread that starts with a completely random comment… like "Blink182 is the best!!!". *Do NOT post a post that contains only a smilie. To do so is considered spamming. See above rule. *REALIZE which FORUM you are in. DO NOT post threads where the topic does not somehow pertain to bass. That means: Threads that want an opinion on a particular band- should be placed in the genre forums. Random threads about mundane things ("I got trashed at a party last night!") should be in The Pit. *Do NOT post threads about being a bassist looking for a band, or needing a bassist for a band, in the Bass Forum. We have a classified section- and that is where they belong. I will DELETE threads like this. *Do NOT post tab requests. We have a specific thread for requesting tabs, and there is also a forum section for requesting tabs. Links to these can be found in the Bass ARCHIVE. Tab Request Threads will be DELETED. *Do not post a "Fingers vs. Picks" or "Best Bassist" thread. These threads lead to arguments. It is unnecessary. These types of threads will be DELETED. *Do NOT create threads about Mark Hoppus. It will be DELETED. *If you are new, try to get a feel for the forum and our members. Be respectful and you will be respected- guaranteed. *Do NOT create response threads. Response threads would be "Why was my thread closed?" or "Why was I banned?" These threads will be DELETED. *Do NOT create threads about how guitarists suck or how your band members suck. If you seriously have a problem with your band, that’s fine to ask for advice... but just fanning the flames with "The bass never gets recognized" is just ridiculous. Cause of Bans Excessive spaming. Racial/Ethnic/Religious/Gender Slurs. Consistent Negativity. Consistent rule breaking. Disregarding Authority. Purposefully and maliciously bashing members. Some of us are here to teach. Some of us are here to learn. Others just want to be in communication with fellow bassists and musicians. This is the perfect place for this to happen. So don't ruin a good thing. You will be removed if you disrupt this community. As always, you may reach me on msn at Light_Raven@hotmail.com You may reach Whodovoodoo at whodovoodoomx@yahoo.com LightRaven |

We aren't allowed to flame, and usually when he's brought up, that's all there is.

its a shame people come on forums just to flame or spam or whatever, i've been on a few where it got so bad the mods just plain quit and the admins had to shut down the site and move it
