drummer problem.

I dont know what to do. Our drummer isnt really that good. But he is one of my bestfreinds and its hard to find a drummer around here. A lot of people in my school tell me that we should kcik him out. But i dont really want to. What do you think I should do?

What are you playing. There may be a need for a really good drummer, or not. I would say depends on how long he has been playing. I've been drumming for 2 months well the rest of the people in the 'band' have been playing for more than a year. Tell him he really hould work on some stuff and get some books. If he is trying and just isn't good you might need to drop him. But if he wants to try harder and progress, give him some time.

Id say for you to keep him, especially if hes your friend. Beggars cant be choosers anyways. Just try to work with him to make him better,

Replace him, if you're best friends you will stay best friends, he'll understand. If he takes it personally he wasn't a real friend.

in my opinion it comes down to what is more important, a friendship or how serious you are, musically. personally I would drop the friend, or kill him. that would take care of it. and noone gets hurt..............

I had this problem, but usually after a while they get the skills. Unless, they are:like rock8 said, intolerably ****. i mean, look at the white stripes.

how long has he been playing? maybe he just needs practice... you cant expect someone to just be really good at something without learning and practicing.
however, if he dosent want to work at it or try to improve, drop him.
of course make sure you have another drummer lined up...
seems theyre hard to find there... and beggars cant be choosers, so make do with what you have... but, encourage him and try to help him and you might have yourself a really good drummer with a bit of tome

Start a 'side project' which happens to have all the members of the current band and a different drummer. Over time have fewer and fewer practices with your current band, until it's obvious the band isn't going anywhere then agree to stop altogether.
